On our 4 day trip to Kerala, after spending 2 days at Kochi we extended our stay to Alleppey.
Sowmya and me we’re hosted by Ramada hotels which is a beautiful 5 year old property which is right along the backwaters of Alleppey. We couldn’t get happier as we got a beautiful room with a view of the beautiful swimming pool and the backwaters where we could see shikaras and houseboats all day long.
The GM was super sweet and arranged for a shikara ride on the backwaters which was one of the best experiences ever. Lush green, filled with coconut trees and peaceful.
After coming back we went to the spa for a deep tissue massage and I gotta say it was super comforting and relaxing.
Coming to the food – another best part of the stay,we enjoyed breakfast, lunch and dinner buffets at World In a Pot where we had amazing choices of Continental,Chinese,Traditional Kerala food and North Indian food. Each and every dish had the perfect blend of flavours and I was really so glad that Mr.Suresh the head chef personally came up to us to check if we were comfortable and enjoyed the food.
The property was full and people really seemed to be enjoying their stay there. Ofcourse who wouldn’t want to enjoy a gorgeous view and great food and hospitality. Right before we arrived there from Kochi which was a couple of hours away, they had hosted the annual Nehru Trophy Boat Race and we were bummed to have missed it.
They even have their luxury house boats where you could stay and experience a wonderful time at the gorgeous backwaters.
The pool was beautiful, we took a dip in it early morning and enjoyed some yummy breakfast by it.
Now coming to Things to do in Alleppey
Visit the Alleppey Beach –
This is a common beach people come to with their families. It is beautiful and crowded as well but definitely peaceful and neat. You can grab peanuts and sit by the beach and enjoy the sunset. They also have the beach bikes if you’d like to do something adventurous.
It is located in the Alleppey District and super far away but definitely worth a visit as it is filled with coconut trees, beautiful sand and clean water. It is also very peaceful and not too crowded. Have coconut water by this beach and sit by the chairs to enjoy your view.
This beautiful church was a must visit on my list as scenes of the movie Ye Maya Chesave were shot here. I loveeee that movie and get emotional whenever I watch it so HAD to visit it.
We had the best time and would go back in a heartbeat if we get the chance 😃
